Let’s think about winter for a minute. When we mention ice – do you think about ice skating or the treacherous walkway out the front door? How about snow – snowmobiling and sledding come to mind or shoveling and paying the snowplow service? Winter can be a fun time of year, but along with the fun comes shoveling, plowing, sanding and salting. Slipping, falling and liability.
We install Uponor Snow and Ice Melting systems. These products utilize radiant heat technology in an outdoor application. Designed for residential or commercial applications, these snow and ice melting systems provide a safe, convenient and economical alternative for snow and ice removal. Imagine – snow and ice free surfaces on your driveway, walkways, and parking areas!
If you’re sick of backbreaking shoveling and expensive snow removal services, your driveways, walkways, parking spaces and other pedestrian areas can be kept clear and safe without any effort. If you have outdoor surfaces at your home or business that you’d like to keep clear of dangerous ice and snow, Snow and Ice Melt Driveways are the perfect solution.
Accumulating snow and ice cause accidents. With a Snow and Ice Melt system, surfaces dry faster and are safer to walk and drive on. When you eliminate slippery ice and snow, you reduce the likelihood of injuries, liability and lawsuits. For organizations and public buildings, the system also helps meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations for safe and easy access.
Because there is no need to use salt, sand, and other toxic chemicals, the Uponor snow and ice melting systems protect the environment and pets. Since there is no need for plowing, it eliminates the seasonal damage to sod and landscaping that occurs every year.
Snow and ice removal services and products are expensive. Add in lost time and wages and medical bills from hurting yourself, or others’ accidents on your property and the costs really add up. In the spring the edges of your lawns and landscaping will be as healthy and in as good shape as they were in the fall because the plows and chemicals haven’t wreaked havoc on them all winter.
Uponor snow and ice melting systems work just like radiant heat systems used indoors. A warm water-and-glycol solution is circulated through durable crosslinked polyethylene (PeX) tubing buried in concrete, asphalt or a sand bed. The heat is then distributed evenly throughout the installation areas. The water heats the surface until it is warm enough to melt snow and ice. A simple on/off manual switch can control the system, or it can be fully automatic. The automatic control system heats up only when it is needed; day and night.
These systems have been tested and installed in millions of homes, buildings and snow and ice melting applications since 1970, and has a life expectancy of over 100 years. In fact, over 12 billion feet of Uponor PeX is in service worldwide. Warm Waters is part of a national network of factory-trained contractors, and these snow and ice melting systems are backed by a solid warranty so you can feel confident knowing we are installing a product that will last for decades to come.
